News about the Nike “Galaxy” Foamposite just keeps rolling in.

Less than a week after they were officially released—causing a riot at a mall in Orlando and a boatload of ridiculously high-priced eBay auctions—it sounds like you’re going to be able to accessorize your “Galaxy” Foamposites…assuming, of course, you’re dumb enough to wear yours outside of the house. Sometime in March, New Era is planning on releasing a 59Fifty “Galaxy” fitted hat that’s made to match both the “Galaxy” Foamposites and the Nike LeBron 9 “Galaxy” sneaker as well. As you can see by the photo above and the photos below (courtesy of Strictly Fitteds), the hat features the same galactic theme as the Galaxy sneakers and looks like it’d compliment either pair nicely.

However, we have to ask: Is anyone out there who’s actually going to buy this and wear it with their “Galaxy” sneakers? We could see one of the numerous rappers—Fabolous, Jim Jones, etc.—who already have a pair of “Galaxy” Foamposites rocking it just to floss. But it seems like wearing the “Galaxy” sneakers and the “Galaxy” fitted hat is a little excessive. Additionally, you’re pretty much just drawing attention to the fact that you’ve got a pair of “Galaxy” sneakers on your feet if you wear this hat—and we’re not necessarily sure that’s something you really want to do. Especially when you consider that the Foamposites are going for upwards of two grand on eBay right now (just sayin’!).

If you’re still interested, though, stay tuned for more details on when and where you’ll be able to cop the “Galaxy” hat. Let’s just hope they aren’t going for a thousand bucks on eBay in the coming weeks, eh? Because the first couple months of the year are starting to become really expensive for anyone who loves sneakers.
