Are Penny Hardaway’s “Shooting Stars” Foamposites Even Better Than The “Galaxy” Foamposites?
It’s gotta be great to be Penny Hardaway right now. Despite the fact that he was never anywhere close to as great as Michael Jordan was, he’s somehow got the hottest sneakers not just on the planet but in the universe right now. Literally. A week after their official release, the Nike “Galaxy” Foamposite sneakers are selling for thousands and thousands of dollars on eBay right now. In sneaker circles, it’s already being considered the crowned jewel of the Foamposite line and it’s got sneakerheads selling their cars just to buy a pair.
However, is it possible that there could already be a pair of Foamposites that sneakerheads consider even better than the “Galaxy” Foamposites? As it turns out, yes. During NBA All-Star Weekend, Penny sported a pair of Nike Air Foamposite One “Shooting Stars” that feature an all-white Foamposite upper, black trim with white stars, and blue lining. They also have Penny’s personal logo and a motto that reads, “BALLIN IS WHAT I WAS BORN TO DO,” on the insole. They are, in a word, dope.
The only problem for all of the sneakerheads out there? There’s absolutely no way that you’re getting your hands on a pair of these. Not now, at least. Because unless you’re willing to track Penny down and offer him a lot of cold, hard cash for his pair, these are the only pair of these Foamposites in existence. That’s right—they’re a special one-of-one pair and Nike has no plans on releasing them anytime soon. So the most you can do right now is look at the pictures of the “Shooting Stars” Foamposites. Enjoy!
