Derrick Rose’s adidas adiZero Rose 2.5 Sneakers Are Going Green For St. Patrick’s Day

The NBA loves celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. So much so that they go out of their way to really celebrate it by allowing several different teams that play on St. Paddy’s Day to wear all-green uniforms. It looks a little bit silly seeing anyone expect the Boston Celtics wearing shamrock green uniforms on the basketball court. But, hey: It’s different and it gets people talking about the players’ uniforms, so it’s not necessarily a bad thing for the NBA to continue to celebrate the Irish holiday.

Of course, playing in green uniforms on St. Patrick’s Day does present one big problem for a lot of players. That problem is that many of them don’t own a pair of green sneakers. And, in reality, there aren’t many green sneakers out there to begin with. So they end up looking all mismatched and disheveled on St. Patrick’s Day. It’s only for a day so most players don’t care. But it does mess with their look for that day.

One guy who won’t have to worry about that on March 17 this year, though, is Derrick Rose. That’s because he’ll be stepping out onto the court for a Chicago Bulls game against the Philadelphia 76ers rocking the green adidas adiZero Rose 2.5 sneakers pictured here. So while a lot of his teammates will be wearing their green unis with their regular old sneakers, he’ll be stepping out in style with his green kicks. And you will be able to do it, too. adidas will be releasing these Rose 2.5 sneakers in their green colorway right around St. Patrick’s Day. Not sure on price or availability yet, but stay tuned to see when and where you’ll be able to snatch up a pair of green sneakers to match your outfit that day. It’s the only way the celebrate St. Patrick’s Day right.
