Katy Perry Gets The Worst Make-Over Ever For Raising Hope

Is pop star Katy Perry ditching her California Dreamy good looks for a new career as a prison security guard? Thankfully, no!

The 27-year-old singer was just getting into character for her guest stint on tonight’s episode of the hit FOX series, Raising Hope. On the episode, titled “Single White Female Role Model,” Katy plays “Rikki,” a prison guard who shares a past with “Sabrina” (played by actress Shannon Woodward).

“Shannon Woodward is my best friend,” Perry said in a statement, according to E! Online. “A couple weeks ago, I was home just toasting up a frozen chicken fillet when she called me up and asked if I wanted to do something ‘fun’ for a change and try out a guest role on her TV show. I thought, ‘Sure, I have nothing else to do, and I like chillin’ with my best friend.’ [Executive Producer] Greg [Garcia] was nice, but I hope he’s not secretly sabotaging my potential future career by typecasting me in the role of just a looker so that I would never be able to play anything more challenging.”

Perhaps Katy doesn’t know the definition of a looker. So, how did Mr. Garcia respond?

“Shannon Woodward told me that her friend Katy was interested in doing an episode and I thought, ‘Why not? Let’s do your friend Katy a favor,’” Garcia said. “Then she came in and did a terrific job. She was hilarious. And now people are telling me that Katy is also a singer. I sincerely hope that her appearance on the show helps her get her singing career off the ground. It’s a tough business.”

Check out a sneak peak from Katy’s guest stint below and listen to Shannon talk about working with her bestie. Will you tune in tonight?
