Who Said It: Mitt Romney Or Mr. Burns?
Who knew the writers at Mad Magazine were still leading the nation with political insight? Just in time for Super Tuesday, the team has compiled a list of startlingly similar quotations, challenging readers to identify the speaker as presidential candidate Mitt Romney, or The Simpsons‘ evil billionaire, C. Montgomery Burns.
The two do have some odd similarities: extreme wealth, fondness for pre-war speech patterns, lack of awareness about the average American, and a bad history with dogs. But Monty is 104, while Mitt is a spry 64. And Burnsy was a Gilded Age student at Yale, while Romney slummed it at BYU.
What next: Rick Santorum vs. Ned Flanders? We’ve already got another great Republican/television mashup with Ron Paul Swanson.
So can you tell the difference? Check out the quiz below, and tell us how you did!
