Under Armour Reveals What Brandon Jennings Did During The 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend
Milwaukee Bucks point guard Brandon Jennings didn’t make the 2012 NBA All-Star Team. Despite the fact that he’s been solid for the Bucks this season, the Eastern Conference is simply loaded with talent (again!) this year. So BJ didn’t get voted into the game. That meant two things: One, he didn’t have to make the trek down to Orlando for the game. And, two, he could have a few days off to rest his body after a tough first half of the season. Except, well, that’s not what he did.
Rather than take a break from balling—or head to Las Vegas, Miami, Los Angeles, or some tropical island for a well-deserved vacation—Jennings was in the gym putting in some major work. There’s only one way to guarantee that he’ll make the All-Star Team next year and that’s to get better and continue perfecting his craft. So he spent his time off back on the job at the Bucks training facility. And he wasn’t just there getting up a few shots and calling it work. He had trainers from the Bucks staff in there with him pushing him to the limit.
Thanks to Under Armour, we know what he went through, too. They followed BJ around during All-Star Weekend to provide an inside look at exactly how hard Jennings works. There are—of course!—plenty of shots of his UA sneakers provided throughout the clip. But there is also a lot of footage of Jennings running through drills, hitting the gym, and even just kicking it at his Milwaukee bachelor pad. It’s good to see a young man who’s this hungry. And we’re glad UA gave us a look at it. It gives us a new appreciation for how hard he works in what should be his down time.
Hey, Brandon: Don’t make any plans for next All-Star Weekend. Something tells us that, if you keep working this hard, your time is gonna be all booked up.
