Sneakerheads In Los Angeles Are Already Lining Up For The Nike Air Yeezy 2

Lining up days in advance of sneaker releases in order to ensure that you get ‘em is the thing to do right now. From the Air Jordan XI “Concord” to the Nike Foamposite “Galaxy,” there have been some really big sneaker releases in the last few months. And they’ve been accompanied by some really, really long lines outside of malls and Foot Lockers across the country days before the actual release date. Pretty crazy stuff.

What’s even crazier, though, is that a group of determined sneakerheads has already started lining up outside of the Beverly Center in Los Angeles awaiting the Nike Air Yeezy 2. The Yeezy 2 is, of course, one of the most anticipated sneakers of 2012. So it should come as no surprise that folks are lining up for them. But, here’s the thing: They don’t even have an official release date yet! The rumored release date for them was March 23. But, now it appears that that date may be April 13. And that’s still the rumored date, mind you, so there’s a good chance that that date could be pushed back as well. The result? A bunch of unhappy campers sitting outside in L.A. for months as opposed to just weeks or days.

What do you think? Are these kids absolutely out of their mind? Or, are they smart for sitting outside and waiting for a sneaker to drop? Keep in mind that with pairs of Foamposite “Galaxys” going for upwards of $2000 or more on eBay right now, there’s a very good chance that anyone who lands a pair of Yeezy 2s will be looking at a nice little payday. But, still: Wouldn’t it just be easier for these kids to go out and, you know, get a job rather than wasting a month or more sitting outside? Especially if the Yeezy 2 comes out later than expected and leaves them sitting outside now for nothing. We applaud the effort, guys. But this is not what we’d like to spend the beginning of spring doing.
