Jermaine Jones Gets Kicked Off American Idol
American Idol contestant Jermaine Jones is set to be kicked off the show tonight since producers learned he concealed the fact he was arrested twice last year and has outstanding warrants.
TMZ first reported yesterday that Jermaine “lied about his criminal history,” triggering the decision to actually confront him on camera Tuesday afternoon. Idol producers were particularly worried about one of the reported incidents that involved violence and also the fact Jermaine lied to police officers, giving them a fake name both times he was arrested.
That’s not the only false truth from him, either. Perhaps for a sympathy vote, Jermaine had reportedly told the show’s producers his father abandoned him over 10 years ago but when his father got in contact with TMZ, he set the record straight and said they see each other regularly. Once the alarm was set on that debacle the producers became more suspicious and began looking closely at his background, leading to the revelation of his criminal history.
