Here’s A Pair Of Nike Foamposite Ones That Are Actually Worth The $500 They’ll Cost You
Over the course of the last few weeks, hundreds of people have paid way too much for a pair of Nike Foamposite One sneakers. Those Foamposites are, of course, the “Galaxy” Foamposites and they’re going for upwards of $2000 on sites like eBay right now. They’re worth it in the sense that the Foamposites will probably be worth a whole lot more in the future. But, two grand for a pair of sneakers that originally cost about a tenth of that? No, thank you.
The Foamposites you see here, though, might just be worth to $500 or so that they’re going for on eBay right now. Why? Well, even though they’ve actually been worn before, they’re what you call “Wear Test” Foamposites. No, that’s not some kind of special release that Nike put together. Rather, the “Wear Test” Foamposites are Foamposites that were used to help design the original Nike Foamposite Ones. They don’t have the “Penny” logo on them. And the material on them isn’t the same as the material on the Foamposites that was actually released. But these are the real deal. They were meant to help decide what aspects of the Foamposites worked and which didn’t.
If you’re a sneaker collector, adding these to your collection is a good idea. They may not be quite as visually appealing as the “Galaxy” Foamposites. But they are rare and they’ll definitely get you plenty of questions every time you slip them on your feet. The only bad news about them, outside of the fact that they were obviously worn in the past? These specific “Wear Test” Foamposites are only available in size 9. But even if they don’t fit you, they’re still probably worth the price. We suggest copping these instead of “Galaxys” and saving the $1500 or so that you’d save for a different Foamposite release. And when we put it that way, we bet it sounds like a pretty good idea, right?
