Check Out The New Prometheus Trailer

A new trailer for Ridley Scott‘s highly anticipated Prometheus dropped this week, and if possible, fanboys are even more excited than before:

The plot and themes of the movie are definitely starting to take shape here. The last trailer basically offered only that “bad stuff happens in space;” and Scott has kept the public almost totally in the dark (except to tweet that he was filming the beginning of time). And while many of these details have been rumored, this trailer confirms a much clearer picture of what we can expect: that a team of humans discovers a god-like race of aliens that created Man, but inadvertently triggers the destruction of humanity.

We also get a better look at the “Space Jockey” alien that will presumably connect this film with Scott’s Alien franchise.

I’m also gonna bet, based on the final shot of the trailer, that Michael Fassbender‘s character (a very advanced android) causes some serious mayhem. First, Fassbender has nailed the cold, calculating backstabber as X-Men: First Class and Haywire. Second, he has a serious case of the crazy eyes here. Third, at the panel when the trailer was unveiled, Fassbender suggested that his robotic character indeed starts “forming its own ego, insecurities, jealousy and envy.”

What do you think of the new Prometheus trailer?
