Derrick Rose’s adidas adiZero Rose 2.5 Sneakers Are Coming Out In Another Great Colorway
When I first saw the adidas adiZero Rose 2.0 sneakers, I have to admit: I wasn’t impressed. The one problem I always have with adidas basketball sneakers is that the classic “Three Stripes” always seem really intrusive to me. The sneakers are designed well. But then it almost seems like adidas realizes that they have to put the Three Stripes somewhere and there’s not a really convenient spot to put them. so they end up getting thrown on the sneaker somewhere and they look out of place and overbearing a lot of the time. That’s how I felt with the adiZero Rose sneakers originally. Love the sneaker, hate that the Three Stripes are plastered across the back of the sneaker.
However, I do have to commend adidas for doing a great job of changing my mind with the adiZero Rose 2.5 sneakers. Although they look very similar to the Rose 2.0 sneakers—those Stripes are still there!—adidas has taken it upon themselves to release the Rose 2.5 sneakers in a variety of different colorways as of late and it’s changing my opninion of the sneaker.
The latest colorway that will be dropping is a lead/black colorway that really highlights everything that’s right about the Rose 2.5 sneakers. With this colorway, they feature a metallic lead toe box, SprintSkin on the side panels, a speckled midsole, and some subtle scarlet red on the Three Stripes branding that really ties everything together and plays down the Stripes. The Rose branding is also present on the tongue of the sneaker and the look and feel of these makes me actually want to buy a pair.
Overall, I like the direction that adidas has taken with the Rose 2.5 sneakers and I hope adidas continues to take Rose’s sneakers in this direction in the future. He just inked a 10-year, $250 million deal that’ll keep him with adidas for his entire career, so I hope they keep building on what they’ve got going here. And I hope they continue to release his sneakers in new colorways as well. It’s the best way to work out the kinks and make his sneaker one of the most coveted sneakers on the market. Just, please: Keep toning down the Three Stripes, adidas. When it comes to your basketball sneakers, it’s for the best.
