Did Katy Perry Diss Beyonce?

Katy Perry has many speculating about whether she took a swipe at Beyoncé in a recent interview with BBC Radio 1. During the interview while talking up her planned duet with her BFF Rihanna, the pop star said:
“We’ve collaborated on a lot of things, but just not songs yet. It’s one of those things that’s got so much build up that we have to deliver.”
When describing the sound she would like her collaboration with Rihanna to have, Katy said:
“I was telling her, you know that Eurythmics song with Aretha Franklin, Annie Lennox, ‘Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves’? That’s like the kind of song that I’d want to do instead of, like, ‘Hips Don’t Lie,’ which was still a great song by Shakira and Beyoncé. I mean, not ‘Hips Don’t Lie,’ what’s that duet? ‘Beautiful Liar.’ I knew there was a ‘lie’ in it, something about that.”
“Beautiful Liar” is a 2007 song by Beyoncé and Colombian Latin pop singer Shakira. It was featured on the re-release of Bey’s second solo album, 2006′s B’Day. Although I think Katy’s jab may have been inadvertent, she should really be careful how she words things since the media is always willing to take things and run with it (and I mean a damn marathon).
