Hunger Games Has Already Sold Out Over 2,000 Showings
Thanks to the magic of Fandango (and tween franchises, and extremely effective marketing), The Hunger Games is pretty much already guaranteed to be a blockbuster two days before its premiere, selling out over 2,000 showings nationwide.
Fandango reports that the film is already their best March presale. Conservative estimates for the movie’s opening weekend box office are $82 million, but it could quite possibly make up to $140 million, easily putting it ahead of the first Twilight. That’s in the range of the current record holder for biggest March open Alice in Wonderland, and even the big budget sequels like The Dark Knight that are usually the Holy Grail of the box office.
What do you think? Are you going to see The Hunger Games this weekend? Just how big will it be?
