Is This What The Nike LeBron 8 Would Have Looked Like If LeBron James Had Signed With the Knicks?
Fans of the New York Knicks have to sit back sometimes and wonder, “What if LeBron James had signed with the Knicks back in 2010?” The Knicks, after all, were on Bron-Bron’s short list when he decided to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers for greener pastures down in South Beach with the Miami Heat. But he ultimately decided not to make the move to the Big Apple, which obviously resulted in the Knicks going in a much different direction by signing Amar’e Stoudemire, trading for Carmelo Anthony, and finding Jeremy Lin in a haystack. What if he had signed with the Knicks, though?
Well, we’re not sure exactly what the team would look like right now. Judging by the results the Heat have gotten out of LeBron, he’d probably be dropping triple-doubles all over the place right now. But, would they have an NBA title yet? Doubtful. What they would have, though, is the sneaker you see above—a Nike LeBron 8 “Knicks” sample that DJ Clark Kent posted to his Twitter account recently. And we’ve gotta admit: This sneaker looks clean. Featuring a white and royal blue upper, an orange sole, and small hits of orange throughout the sneaker, it’s about what you’d expect from the LeBron 8 “Knicks.” Not that that’s a bad thing.
Of course, we’ll never get to see this sneaker released. The LeBron 8 has already had its time to shine and the Nike LeBron 9 is already in stores everywhere. But, for just a second, let’s sit back and wonder what it would have been like if LBJ had signed with the Knicks back in 2010. Knicks fans would have had a few more wins on their resume, even more star power than they’ve got now, and these sneakers to show for it. Then again, if these had dropped, we’d probably be sitting here now looking at a Nike LeBron 8 “South Beach” sample and saying, ‘Damn, I wish Nike had dropped those.’ So, maybe everything worked out for the best.
