Texas Rangers Unveil “The Boomstick”: The $26 Hot Dog
Looks like I’ll be taking a road trip to the Arlington, Texas Metroplex this summer. Though I’m quite happy with the Citi Field branch of Shake Shack, the Texas Rangers’ home stadium has just introduced a snack that could be even bigger than the Shack Stack. Well, literally speaking, it definitely is bigger.
The Boomstick (named after slugging right fielder Nelson Cruz) is a foot-long hot dog topped with chili, carmelized onions, jalapeno cheese, and actual jalapenos. Of course, it comes with a side of fries. The whole thing could weigh two pounds, and is meant to feed four people– though I can’t wait to see a “Man Vs. Food” style challenge for finishing the whole thing by yourself.
“I don’t know how many calories are in this thing, but it’s got to be 2,000 or 3,000,” said Casey Rapp, operations manager for Sportsservice, which handles concessions at the park.
What do you think? Would you take on The Boomstick?
