The Nike Air Yeezy 2 Won’t Be Dropping Until June Now
In fairness, you’ve never actually came out and said, “The Nike Air Yeezy 2 will be hitting stores on Black Friday.” Or, “The Nike Air Yeezy 2 will be dropping on March 23.” Or, “The Nike Air Yeezy 2 will be dropping on April 13.” Or…well, you get the point. But, you’ve also never said that the Nike Air Yeezy 2 wasn’t dropping on those days. And Nike hasn’t shot down the rumors, either. So we’ve all been sitting on pins and needles, hoping and praying that these release dates have been correct. “Maybe they’re just trying to surprise us,” we thought, as we lined up outside of sneaker spots across the country, checked the sneaker blogs religiously, and waited for a sign—any sign!—to indiciate that the Nike Air Yeezy 2s were dropping.
Late Monday night, we finally got our sign. It just wasn’t the sign we wanted to see. According to Complex—who cited a Nike spokesperson in their report—the Nike Air Yeezy 2 now has an official official release date (unlike all the others which, as it turns out, were just rumored release dates). That date? June something or other. That actual day is still a mystery, but the sneakers will drop in June sometime. The Nike spokesperson was also kind enough to point out that the retail price of the sneakers will definitely be $245.
So, there you go. If you’re waiting in line somewhere, you might want to consider going home and coming back in a month or two. And if you’re not waiting in line somewhere, consider yourself a very, very smart person. Those idiots sitting out already look really dumb right about now (just kidding, guys—ha!). If we hear anything else else, you can best believe we’ll keep you informed. But, for now, you can sit back knowing that the Yeezy 2s will be out in June. Unless, of course, Nike decides to push them back again. In which case, we’re not sure how much more patient we can be. No more, Kanye!
