Will Ferrell Announces Anchorman Sequel On Conan
In an announcement that is sure to send fans into a frenzied glass case of emotion, Will Ferrell appeared on Conan last night as his newscaster alter ego Ron Burgundy to announce a sequel to 2004′s Anchorman.
Burgundy appeared in his signature polyester suit and perfectly coiffed hair, riffing on some jazz flute. After some well-meaning banter with Conan O’Brien (“You look like someone put a bright red fright wig on a skeleton and chucked it out of a helicopter”), Burgundy/Ferrell got down to business:
“I want to announce this to everyone here in the Americas, to our friends in Spain, Turkey and the U.K. — including England — that as of 0900 mountain time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to Anchorman.”
Most of the cast is expected to return, even though some like Paul Rudd and Steve Carrell are now leading men themselves. No word yet on whether Baxter is committed.
What do you think about the upcoming Anchorman sequel?
