Watch A Chanel Jacket Get Made Before Your Eyes
Since its inception in 1909, Chanel has been know for its sexiness, opulence, and pure class culminating in the classic black jacket created by Coco Chanel back in the 1950s.
Even when Karl Lagerfeld took over the Paris-based brand, the Chanel black jacket continued to be iconic. In order to celebrate what Lagerfeld calls “one of the symbols that defines the style of Chanel,” the white-haired designer is releasing a new book all about the iconic black jacket entitled The Little Black Jacket: CHANEL’s Classic Revisited by Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld, featuring celebrities like Anna Wintour, Jane Birkin, Sofia Coppola, Kirsten Dunst, Yoko Ono, Elizabeth Olsen, Lauren Hutton, Uma Thurman, Waris Ahluwalia, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kate Moss modeling the couture noir.
As if that wasn’t enough, Chanel also just released an absolutely memorizing video capturing the creation of the jacket from sketch to finished product. Click below to see how the jacket is made. You’ll develop a new level of respect for the timeless design. And if you can sew, take notes! Perhaps you’ll be able to create something just as mesmerizing one day.
