Colin Ferrell Is The New Arnold Schwarzenegger In “Total Recall” Remake
It’s been 22 years since Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in the sci-fi action flick Total Recall. The film has had a tremendous lifespan since its original release back in 1990 and many can still recall their favorite scenes from the movie (the girl with the three boobs will forever stand out in my mind). But, as you know, Hollywood has this thing with either taking a foreign film and Americanizing it or remaking classics and introducing them to a new audience. Total Recall falls into the latter category with a remake scheduled to hit theaters on August 3rd, 2012.
Instead of the musclebound Schwarzenegger, Colin Ferrell will take on the role of Douglas Quaid/Hauser. The film is still inspired by the 1966 short story by Philip K. Dick titled We Can Remember It for You Wholesale, but will follow the book more closely than the 1990 film.Will it live up to the heights of the original? We’ll just have to wait and see.
