New Balance Makes A Pair Of Sneakers For President Obama

Now, this is more like it. A few weeks back, we showed you the custom sneaker that Spike Lee had made for President Barack Obama. The Air Jordan Spizikes he presented to the President were, no doubt, dope. But, our only problem with it was that it didn’t look like the type of sneaker that President Obama would actually wear. He’s a pretty hip guy. But, Spizikes? Eh, they don’t exactly go with the “dad jeans” that the President rocks on the regular.

These new New Balance sneakers, however, do do the trick. There’s not a ton of information available on them yet. But what we do know is that they’re New Balance Made in the USA sneakers made specifically for President Obama. They feature the words “President” and “Obama” on the back on the left and right heels. And they’ve also got “Handmade in the United States” stitched prominently on the heels as well. Pretty sharp. We could see the President walking the White House grounds with a pair of these on this spring.

As we said, we’re not sure if these will be made available for the public or if they’re simply some one-of-ones that have been sent to the President. But, regardless, they’re a welcomed addition to the Made in the USA collection and we wouldn’t be surprised at all if we saw the President out and about in these one day. Stay tuned for more details, which should hopefully be coming soon.
