Is Jaime Hilfiger About To Become The New Kim Kardashian?
Paris Hilton did it. Kim Kardashian, too! Without any discernible talent, those two women parlayed their good looks and their high-profile family names to rise from obscurity and acquire fame as celebutantes (that’s celebrity plus debutante for those of you who aren’t familiar with the term). So, it’s no surprise that young girls around the globe would aspire to follow in their footsteps.
Enter Jaime Hilfiger. The 24-year-old niece of fashion mega-mogul Tommy Hilfiger is an actress, model, host, and Kim Kardashian-wannabe. And, of course, she’s hoping to can garner the type of fame Kimmie has acquired without having to make a sex tape.
“Kim is extremely smart. Her mother is one of the smartest people, actually. I did not grow up with a stage mom, unfortunately,” Jaime admitted. “I don’t want to come out with a sex tape, and I definitely want to present myself in a more classy way. I don’t want to be known as—excuse my language—a media whore.”
Despite her famous name, Jaime aspires to make a name for herself by becoming a supermodel. “I have always known that I wanted to be in the spotlight in some way,” she said. “I’m not going to go to acting classes, because that’s not my passion. If it falls into my lap, like it kind of did for Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian, then so be it. The term ‘supermodel’ came from my publicist, because she was like, “You’re so much different.” I don’t know if you’ve ever been out to Hollywood, but every girl is a quote-unquote ‘model.’ But I’ve been a spokesmodel for two major cosmetic companies and like two jewelry companies.”
Currently, Jaime is taking quite a few pages from the “how to be famous” book that Kim K wrote. The socialite is currently in “talks with a major network to star in a reality show” and is developing a fashion collection. “I want to give the Tommy Hilfiger consumer what they’re not getting from the Tommy Hilfiger brand, and I want to come out with high-end loungewear,” Jaime revealed. “For when a woman gets home from work, for example, and she’s in, like, her clothes she works in in the office, and she lives with her boyfriend or lives with her husband obviously, or lives with a few friends, but she doesn’t want to keep her work clothes on, but she doesn’t want to change into her pajamas.”
When asked what she would do if she never been famous, it sounds like Jaime has never even considered that an option. “I know some people that have been close and gotten lazy, but I don’t think that’s an option for me,” she said. “When you look at Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton, they were most successful when they were like 28 and 29.”
Well, Jaime, you have five years to make it happen. Do you think Tommy’s niece has what it takes?
