Amanda Bynes Gets Arrested For Hitting A Police Car, Her Father Says She Was ‘Not Drunk’
Despite what you may be thinking, Amanda Bynes was not arrested for a crime of fashion recently (although, for the record, that pink hair is frightening!).
The 26-year-old actress was taken into custody early Friday morning after sideswiping a police car. According to an official police statement, “a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy in a marked black and white radio car was stopped at the intersection of Robertson Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard preparing to turn right onto Santa Monica Boulevard when a black BMW driven by actress Amanda Bynes attempted to pass the right of the radio car, colliding with the right rear quarter panel of the radio car. There was minor paint transfer damage to both vehicles. Amanda Bynes was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence and booked at West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station.”

After taking a mugshot, the She’s The Man actress was released on $5,000 bail. But, now, Rick Bynes is coming to his daughter’s defense and insisting that she was not driving under the influence. “She was not drunk,” he told People.com. “I was told that she blew a zero on the Breathalyzer. She didn’t have a single drink that night. My daughter doesn’t drink.”
Amanda famously retired from acting back in 2010 via Twitter and her father believes that this may be the reason she’s being attacked by the public. “She is a good girl,” he added. “She just chooses not to work, and because of that, people go after her.”
While no date has been set, Amanda did receive a citation and will have to appear in court. Check out the video of Amanda leaving the police station below. #shade to the paparazzi member that asked if she was wearing a wig. Do you think Amanda was driving under the influence?
