Is The New Apple MacBook Pro Almost Here?

Submitted by on April 11, 2012 – 9:14 amOne Comment

Gizmodo reports that major retailers are now listing the current MacBook Pro as “out of stock,” a move that commonly precedes the release of a new model. Once current stocks are cleared out, resellers like J&R and Best Buy will be ready to fill their shelves with the latest generation of the popular laptop.

“According to Apple Insider, “40 and 60 percent” of Best Buy shops in Chicago and Austin are reporting ‘stock outs’ on the 15-inch 2.4GHz MacBook Pro,” according to Jesus Diaz.

Additionally, Best Buy isn’t taking online orders. Keep your eyes out for heavy discounts and fire sales, which also often help get rid of older models just before a new release.

Gizmodo also predicts that the new models will basically be thinner and faster, by using “Core i7 Ivy Bridge processors,” and by swapping the bulky and power-draining (spinning) hard drives for more expensive SSDs.

What do you think? Will we be seeing a new MacBook Pro anytime soon?
