Kevin Durant’s New Nike N7 Zoom KD IV Sneaker Is Something Special
Have you heard about the new initiative that Nike just implemented? If not, it’s called N7 and it’s meant to try and inspire more Native American and Aboriginal populations to get involved with the game of basketball. Essentially, Nike sees a great need here. While most of the country is actively engaged in the sport, they feel as though Native Americans are not involved enough in the game and they’re trying to do something about it with N7.
The first order of business is to start spreading the word about it. And, what better way to do that than to get one of the biggest superstars in the NBA to rock a special colorway of his signature sneaker to help bring awareness to Nike’s cause? So, that’s exactly what Nike asked Kevin Durant to do on Wednesday night when he rocked a pair of Nike N7 Zoom KD IV sneakers on the court when the Oklahoma City Thunder took on the Los Angeles Clippers. Using the slogan, “Everybody Leaves A Footprint,” the goal of the sneaker is to help Nike—and Durant, for that matter—support the N7 outlet and get others to support it, too.
As you can clearly see by taking a look at the sneaker, the N7 Zoom KD IV features some nods to Native American heritage as well as the N7 logo on the tongue of the sneaker. We’re not sure if Nike plans on having any of its other athletes wear N7-branded sneakers in the future, but if they’re as serious about the initiative as we think they are, we’d look out for more of them to hit the courts soon. In the meantime, these Durant kicks should be available to the public later this spring in both white and black colorways. Keep an eye out for them.
