Allen Iverson Reveals That Reebok Will Be Re-Releasing His Iconic First Sneaker, “The Question”
This has certainly been a long time coming, hasn’t it? More than a decade ago, Allen Iverson signed an endorsement deal with Reebok and released his first sneaker, which was called “The Question.” With AI behind it, the sneaker quickly grew in popularity and, over time, it became one of the strongest releases from the Reebok brand. AI did a bunch of other sneakers with Reebok as well, which all did well for the brand, but “The Question” was undeniably the best sneaker that AI ever released with Reebok. And, fortunately, it sounds like AI and Swizz Beatz—the Creative Director of Reebok—are currently in talks to re-released “The Question” sometime in the near future.
During a a music video shoot for Swizz’s new single, “Street Knock,” last weekend, XXL caught up with AI for a few minutes to talk about what he’s been up to recently and he revealed the plans for “The Question” and his rekindled relationship with Reebok. “Yes, I’m still affiliated with Reebok and Swizz is a partner of mine,” he said. “[We're going to] bring my first shoe back, just like the retro Jordans, we’re bringing my first shoe back.”
That’s great to hear. However, it’s unclear when “The Question” will be brought back, how exclusive it’ll be when it does drop, and how much the re-released sneaker will cost. But, we’re sure that sneakerheads everywhere will be clamoring for these kicks when they finally drop. So, it’s smart for Reebok to re-release them and even smarter for AI to get involved with the re-release because there’s still a lot of money to be made off of that particular sneaker if they roll it out right. So, stay tuned. We’ll definitely keep you posted when we know more about the details behind the re-release of “The Question.”
