Would You Buy A Nintendo NES Controller Coffee Table?

Are you looking for something to add a little retro geek flair to your living room? How about a coffee table the shape of an old school Nintendo controller. It’s only $3,500- and it’s completely functional.

The table is listed on personal crafts site Etsy, and comes with the following description:

Nintendo NES controller coffee table. Made from maple, mahogany and walnut with dovetail joinery and mid century modern legs.

This table fully functions as a Nintendo NES controller and can be used to play games with the glass removed. The cord is retractable from underneath. The demonstration video is currently being produced and will be posted soon on youtube and bohoworkbench.com

Dimensions: 42″ length x 18.25″ width x 18″ height

The manufacturer also notes that the tables are made to order, and can be made with cheaper materials and can be nonfunctional to fit any budget. But who wants that?

What do you think? Is the Nintendo controller table a gift, or an investment?
