Mitt Romney Sells Seats To His Inauguration For $50,000

Mitt Romney is getting a lit bit presumptuous: over the weekend, his campaign emailed supporters to advertise personal access and perks in exchange for massive donations, including “preferred status at the first Presidential Inaugural retreat.”

Buzzfeed was the first to report the email, which reaches out to supporters to be a part of “Romney Victory,” an intensive fundraising effort to bridge the gap between his funds for the primary and for the general election. Romney Victory is offering personal access to the candidate for individuals and couples, often encouraging them to “max out” their donations according to federal campaign laws.

Perks and personal access for major donors is a hot button issue: both sides absolutely do it, and both sides bash the other for doing it. But news involving Romney and massive sums of money is always bad for the multi-millionaire trying to make himself more relatable to the American people, especially as tax day looms and Romney still has not released his return.

What do you think about Romney’s inauguration deal?
