Evelyn Lozada’s Assistant Charged With Battery For Slapping Jennifer Williams
Basketball Wives star Jennifer Williams has kept her word and is taking legal action against her former BFF Evelyn Lozada‘s assistant, Nia Crooks, for smacking the hell out of her on Monday night’s episode of the show. On Wednesday, Jennifer filed a civil complaint in Manhattan Supreme Court, alleging assault and battery. Taking things a step further, the New Jersey native also filed a criminal complaint in Florida, where Monday night’s episode took place. According to TMZ:
“Basketball Wives star Nia Crooks has been charged with misdemeanor battery for pimp slappin’ the taste out of Jennifer Williams’ mouth back in January … TMZ has learned.
A rep for the Broward County State’s Attorney’s Office tells us … officials decided to file the charge on April 10 … after Williams filed a criminal complaint.
If convicted, Nia faces up to a year in the slammer.”
Jennifer’s lawsuit against Crooks may have alienated the rest of the cast of the hit VH1 reality show, as it is being reported that a majority of the other ladies are threatening to boycott the upcoming reunion show if Jen attends. A lawyer for Crooks told TMZ:
“We will vigorously defend Nia against these charges. The women on the show executed contracts expressly accepting the risk that a physical altercation could occur.”
“Given that Jennifer herself has previously instigated fights on the show, to cry foul now is absurd and a desperate attempt for publicity and money. We will fight until Nia is vindicated.”

Nia’s lawyer sounds crazy! There is no comparison between Jennifer instigating an argument or fight and slapping someone in the face…Yea, one is called trash talking and is legal however, the other is called assault and is illegal!
It’s truly sad that these grown woman really think its ever appropriate to put there nasty hands on anyone!
Just wondering even if Jennifer did sign a contract accepting the risk’s of a fight, would that acceptance of risk waver extend to Nia, a non-cast member?
and if such a waver could possibly include non-cast members as well then would that also prevent any random individual, who walks up to any of the cast mates and slaps them during a taping of the show?
If so I’m about to be on the first thing smoking to find Miss Evelyn and give her a good old face slapping.
yeah maybe jen was wrong for not giving Nia her keys and acting as if she doesn’t want to be friends with evelyn and nia anymore because she hang with celebrities now; but we all know that it is against the law to put your hands on anyone. If Nia was that mad at jennifer, she needs to realize that she is a grown woman. She should have handled the situation as an adult. Anyone that doesn’t want to be bothered, the best thing to do is to just let them be. Later on down the line, Jennifer would have come to her senses and relized that she should not have turned her back on her friends. Nia should have Just left her alone and killed Jennifer with kindness. If she didn’t want jennifer to have her keys, just get the locks on her door changed, that is just too easy. Instead she let her actions take advantage and now that will cost her a criminal charge. I was on jennifer’s side, until i heard her talking about nia coming from harlem and talking about her two bed room apartment. It’s like she was saying that Nia is a nobody. Everybody is somebody.
Guys you need to check out Evelyn’s new look that she got while in London. She now has thick bangs which makes her face look almost completely different. She’s looks young and fresh like a princess (laughing). I swear go to Ev’s website and check out the photo. Ev looks like she’s only 21yrs old,innocent like she can’t even hurt a fly if it falls on her. It doesn’t even look like Evelyn she looks like the virgin Mary(laughs). Jennifer obviously hasn’t been to Harlem in a minute to make that stupid statement. The rent for two bedroom apartments is running like $2,000/month up there… So bashing where the girl lived was a cheap shot… But anyway right is right. I think Jennifer is stuck on herself and thinks she is better then others (BUT) the hood rat Nia should be sued. And Evelyn is as bad as she is. Chad needs to turn and run as fast as he can. I think Evelyn is old, wack & playing herself out. She walk around like she all big & tough she don’t like no one or want no one in here life nor more then a “Gopher” type broad.
