Source: Basketball Wives Producers Pissed About Face-Slap Lawsuit

Although Jennifer Williams is allegedly trying to shore up interest in her storyline to cinch a spot on the next season of Basketball Wives by filing a lawsuit against Evelyn Lozada‘s assistant, Nia Crooks, for slapping her in the face during last week’s episode, the move may have the opposite effect. Reportedly, the producers of the hit VH1 reality series are pissed that Jen is suing over the very ugly racetrack confrontation. According to TMZ:

“Sources close to production tell TMZ … Williams was already on thin ice with the show — even before her slaptastic showdown with Nia Crooks — but now that she has filed a lawsuit … that ice is breaking FAST.

We’re told producers think the suit is BS … claiming Jennifer never had a problem with fighting before and insist this is a desperate publicity stunt to keep her storyline interesting — securing her a place in season 5.

But a source tells us the stunt is not working, adding, ‘Filing broad lawsuits when you are as much to blame for the drama, is not the way to get your contract extended.’”

Although I don’t agree with anyone resorting to physical violence to resolve their issues, has Jennifer been totally oblivious to the last few seasons of the show?? Fighting, face slapping, glass throwing, and name calling has become par for the course on the show…as much as I hate grown women acting a damn fool on national television, it wouldn’t be Basketball Wives if Evelyn wasn’t jumping across a table at someone or Tami wasn’t calling someone a b*tch.

As a black woman, I am appalled at how these basketball wives act. They are vulgar as if they are from the ghetto. The only one that acts like a lady is the one that filed the lawsuit, Jennifer.
It seems like they have no integrity, morals or manners. I hope none of their mothers are alive to see them.

I agree with Peaches Kelly. I am embarrassed for these ppl and pity their kids. I am so glad my Mom doesnt act like ghetto trash

I feel that the show is on point. If I wasnt a fighter, (which I have been known to do when someone crosses the line) I would have done what jennifer did, press charges or hired a thug chick to be my new bff and handle chicks like evelyn, tammi and nia. There is no way i would allow someone to physically assault me with no precussions for their actions.

If the producers are mad at Jennifer for filing a lawsuit then I would say “Too Bad” Evelyn character has gone down hill, all she wants to do is fight people that she know won’t come back at her. for example Tami, she all cool with Tami now, Royce even though she couldn’t stand Royce she won’t run up on her like that. The show is getting boring and focusing more on negativity than being uplifting and encouraging to african americans and latinos..Again kudos to Jennifer for maintaing her lady like qualities.

  • KimmyK says:

Im not understanding the fighting and where it comes from. But for Jen to file a lawsuit is crazy. She didnt have a problem when she was trying to act tough with Royce. Tami is like another Nene its ok when she is attacking but when its going on around her she has a problem with it. These ladies need to take the high road and get over it. Not sure if I can continue to support the show.

Jennifer better sue her stupid ass!… That dum ass ugly hoe gon slap someone and she can’t even afford to pay the courts… Keep your hands to yourself! What the fuck kind of job is that an “Assistant” ? Get a reall job! Evelyn you are a 36 year old women! Why are you jumping over tables, throwing bottles, and Putting yourself in stupid Positions grow up.

Of course she said she wish you would slap her, you did but if she wish you had jump off a cliff would you have.?.. You are just trying to look bold on tv … But u just look ignorant as well!

This basketball wives show is crazy as hell it’s not even authentic anymore… Shaunie is a background instigator… She doesn’t make since no more… When is basketball wives la conning back I like those girls more !

  • Stella says:

I watch the show every week. I have a daughter that is 41 years old and if I ever heard or saw her behaving the way these women are I would be very embarrassed and disappointed that she would allow herself to behave that way. Come on Evelyn stop cursing and always wanting to fight. It is very distasteful, Shaunie as the executive producer you should put a cap on it at some point. It makes Evelyn ugly and a bully exactly what we tell our young ladies, not to behave this way. Think about your daughter believe me she may not have a problem with it or express her displeasure with your behavior, think about it. Ask Tami she is finally comfronting her Mom about something that happened years ago. Stop and sit down and look at the show and see yourself.

Why or Did she file a law suit against her ex for throwing a drink in her face?
Evelyn for hitting her in the head with her purse-but she is filing for the slap?

Although what happen to her is wrong-she hasn’t been an angel on the show-She laughed and instigated many things-she laughed at Meeka when she got popped. She ridicule others and gave Royce grief now the table has turned and it’s not so funny anymore.

  • Alley says:

I can’t believe the # of people on here that actually have a problem w/Jennifer for pressing charges for being slapped in the face. If I recall other lawsuits have been filed by people on this show before. Susie is scared to death of being cast out of the “popular girls” grp is this really where we as women, not to mention black women, have settled. This is a pathetic show that I am so relieved is no longer a part of my viewing lineup

  • Nica says:

Jen had every right to file a lawsuit, you can talk stuff all you want, but when you put your hands on somebody, you better be ready to take what comes next. These ladies are very highschoolish, who cares who Jen befriends, thats her business. And if her so-called friends don’t like her her new friends, then talk to her about equally sharing time with all her friends. You bit#$#$^$ need to grow up, and be 100.
