Peep Chris Brown’s New “Dum English” Toy Line
Is Chris Brown the new Swizz Beatz? The young pop star appears to be following in the famed producer’s creative footsteps, releasing a line of collectible toys and unique art sculptures with artist Ron English titled “Dum English.”
Launching on May 2nd in Los Angeles at the Corey Helford Gallery, the limited-edition line features items at very different price points, like a toy necklace chain selling for $75 and a 10″ vinyl figure for $140 (produced by vinyl toy production team Made by Monsters) and then a four-foot life-size fiberglass sculpture by Garageworks Industries that will cost a whopping $20,000. The toy series will launch with only 1000 pieces and only 20 pieces of the sculpture will be created.
“Hands down right now my guy is Ron English. Ron has to be the most creative, ‘out there’ artist,” Brown says of his collaborator. “His work is so precise but at the same time so unorthodox.”
Proceeds from sales at the event will go to Brown’s newly launched Symphonic Love foundation, which provides support and funding for arts programs dedicated to women and the artistic development of children.
