Beyoncé Rocked High Heels During Blue Ivy’s Birth?

Okay, Beyoncé. We get it. You’re glamorous beyond anything we could ever imagine but to find out your fierceness extended into the delivery room? That’s on a whole other level.

Recently voted People magazine’s Most Beautiful Woman, Beyoncé revealed she fought against self-esteem issues during the birth of Blue Ivy Carter, her daughter with Jay-Z, by doing what she does best: staying fly.

“I didn’t feel that I looked beautiful during birth—but who does?” she tells the magazine. “After being pumped with all those fluids and gaining so much weight, with my swollen lips and cheeks, I barely recognized myself.

“I tried my best to roller-set my hair and I wore my [lip] gloss when I arrived at the hospital. I committed to the end and wore my kitten heels!”

Kitten heels aside (’cause ladies, these are not cute in any circumstances) it takes serious dedication to even think about what you look like when you have a newborn ready to pop.

“It makes me laugh thinking about it,” she said. “But after many hours of labor, I didn’t care how I looked. It was all about the miracle that God gave me— the opportunity to deliver a human being.”

Queen B also admits she’s been putting in serious work to get her body back to its famous shape. “I’m proud that my waist came back so fast. I had to get my tone back. I’m definitely softer, but I feel my body bouncing back. Whatever was tight and muscular, like my legs, I’m seeing it come back. You just have to work at it.”

Mama Beyoncé’s first live shows, dubbed “Revel,” are scheduled for Memorial Day Weekend in Atlantic City.
