In the video for Rihanna‘s “We Found Love”, the Barbadian pop star is depicted as a drug abusing thrill seeker in a relationship that quickly spirals downward into addiction and violence. Rih-Rih’s love interest in the much talked-about video was played by competitive boxer-turned-model Dudley O’Shaughnessy, with whom she allegedly engaged in a brief fling after filming on the video wrapped. Although many were buzzing about Rih-Rih’s onscreen chemistry with Dudley, he apparently was not her first choice for the video. Reportedly, A-lister James Franco was who she really wanted for the role. The Rise of the Planet of the Apes actor told MTV in a recent interview:

“She actually asked me to be in that video, the one with the relationship that gets crazy. I couldn’t do it. But, I guess, I hope that that means there’s mutual love between us.”

During his interview, the Oscar-nominee also revealed that he may get another chance to act alongside of Rihanna in the upcoming film The Apocalypse. He said:

“I think she’s gonna be in the new movie that I’m doing, Seth Rogen’s directorial debut. I think she has a little part in that.”

We’re imaging these two side-by-side, and they definitely would have made an interesting looking pair if Franco would have agreed to appear in the “We Found Love” video. Everyone knows Rih-Rih has a thing for men with that just rolled out of bed, unshaven look (à la Ashton Kutcher and Shia LaBeouf).
