Space Shuttle Enterprise Soars Over NYC

The Space Shuttle Enterprise soared over NYC yesterday before landing at JFK International Airport. After the discontinuation of the shuttle program and the Enterprise’s retirement, this piece of history is on it’s way to it’s final destination at the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum, on the Hudson River; but first, the Enterprise thrilled onlookers as it traveled on the back of a modified Boeing 747, cruising past some of the city’s most recognizable landmarks:

But you didn’t need to be a professional photographer to enjoy the view. Social media exploded as droves of New Yorkers grabbed their phones and cameras to snap a picture or video of the shuttle as it passed right by their homes and offices:
