The Miami Heat Have No Excuse Not To Return To The NBA Finals
With the Chicago Bulls losing Derrick Rose for the rest of the NBA Playoffs, there is absolutely no reason why the Miami Heat shouldn’t make it back to the NBA Finals. If they manage to find a way to lose before the NBA Finals, perhaps Pat Riley and company should truly consider disbanding this team that once boasted acquiring not three, not four, not five… you get the picture.
Take a look at the landscape of the Eastern Conference and ask yourself what team really has a shot at knocking off the Heat. The answer? Nobody. Aside from the Bulls being castrated without Rose in the lineup, Orlando no longer has Dwight Howard, the Celtics have issues with Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen and the Knicks are missing Jeremy Lin and now Iman Shumpert. The Heat are at full strength and it shouldn’t be difficult cruising to the NBA Finals.
When you really think about it, the Heat should waltz into the finals virtually unscathed and perhaps have little problem dispatching the Western Conference winner. The road through the West is far more difficult than the carcasses the Heat should be able to step over. It’s almost unfair how the season has torn down multiple teams due to its vigorous schedule and here the Heat stand with their Big 3 in full strength and ready to mop the floor with the Eastern Conference.
It’s almost too easy. If the Heat do win the championship, most will say that they should have won and the feat isn’t all that impressive. They are probably right. And considering the paved road that they’ll likely take to get there, barring any injury, anything less than a trip back to the Finals would be uncivilized.
