WTF Are These Fresh Prince of Bel-Air-Inspired Reebok Zig Encore Sneakers?

It looks like somebody over at Reebok is a huge Fresh Prince of Bel-Air fan. How else can you possibly explain what the Reebok designers just did to John Wall‘s signature Reebok Zig Encore sneaker? We understand all that Will Smith did for sneaker culture as a whole—he had a mean sneaker collection back in the day—but these things are, well, interesting to say the least.

The first thing that obviously jumps out at you here is the color of the sneaker. The upper part of the sneaker features a bright lime green colorway. Teal borders the top of the sneaker and continues on into the inner lining and also pops up on the heel clip. The laces and the outsole of the sneaker are orange. And the speckled ZigNano sole on the bottom of the shoe is pink, as is the logo on the tongue and the “Stay Fresh” notation on the heel. All of the color is supposed to pay homage to some of the looks that Will Smith sported on early episodes of Fresh Prince.

Fortunately, Reebok isn’t going all in with this design and they won’t be distributing it in large quantities. They’ll be releasing about 150 pairs total through different sneaker shops around the country. So, if you’re a big fan of Fresh Prince and Will Smith—or you just so happen to really, really like sneakers that will blind people—keep an eye out for them. Something tells us that you won’t be able to miss them when you see them.
