Trailers have become a movie within themselves nowadays. Fans flock to their computer screens as soon as word gets out a new one has been released and nothing causes more hype and hysteria than blockbuster teasers.

Last night the third and final trailer for the most anticipated release of the summer movie season, Dark Knight Rises, debuted online. The final movie in a trilogy that has seen excitement grow with every installment looks, from this just-over-two-minute-clip, to potentially be the darkest and most dramatic one yet.

The trailer will air in theaters this weekend before The Avengers, another big, anticipated superhero flick. But even more so than for the Dark Knight Rises premiere on July 20, sci-fi heads are salivating over the new Prometheus trailer. The film’s plot follows the crew of the spaceship Prometheus in the late 21st century, as they explore an advanced alien civilization in search of the origins of humanity. The movie’s latest morsel of preview greatness introduces Charlize Theron‘s dynamic character (a commander of a fleet exploring a cavernous world in search for the answers to ancient mysteries) in addition to Michael Fassbender and Guy Pearce‘s protaganists. Rounding up the team are Noomi Rapace and Logan Marshall-Green, who both come into contact with an alien species that infect their bodies and those around them.

Check out the latest trailer for Prometheus (due in theaters June 8th) below and decide which film looks more intriguing to you.
