How Cool Is This Nike Air Yeezy 2 Sneaker Cube?
The Nike Air Yeezy 2 won’t even be out in stores until June. And yet, as you can see here, one artist has already put a very, very unique piece of art together based on the sneaker that’s got the Internet going nuts.
This “sneaker cube” appears on the latest cover of Sneaker Freaker and it was created by the graphic artist Pawel Nolbert. The point of the sneaker cube? Er, we’re really not 100 percent sure. It’s obviously not the most fashionable way to wear your Yeezy 2s, but it is a clever take on the sneaker that turns it into a really interesting piece of art. It uses all of the same types of textures as the Yeezy 2 sneaker, incorporates the same colorways, and even includes the same laces that you’ll find on the Yeezy 2. And, it does it all in the shape of a cube and offers up a different take on the Yeezy 2.
This isn’t the first sneaker that Pawel Nolbert has turned into a sneaker cube, either. In the past, he’s also put the Christian Louboutin Studded “Louis” Sneaker, the Vans Mid Skool 77 CA Sneaker, the New Balance 1500 Sneaker, the Rick Owens Anthem Contrasting Lace-Up Sneaker, the Trussardi 1911 F/W09 Camo Sneaker, and the Raf Simons Yellow Astronaut Sneaker into cube form. He says he was inspired by the Raf Simons sneaker originally and just let his imagination run wild as he turned more and more sneakers into cubes.
What do you think of this collection? Would you display these at your house if you could get your hands onto one of them? They seem like pretty cool collector’s items for folks who look at a pair of sneakers as more than just a pair of sneakers. Check out some of the cubes below and then let us know your thoughts.
