Dirk Nowitzki Gets His Own Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke Sneaker
Once upon a time, Dirk Nowitzki had a dream. His dream, of course, was to play in the NBA one day against the best basketball players in the world and, later, to win a world championship. His dream came true. So, to help him celebrate the milestone—and to help one of his fans from Germany accomplish one of his goals—Nike created a special Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke sneaker that was presented to Dirk recently in a special “Dreambox” that was made with Dirk in mind.
As you can see from all the photos posted here, the Nike AF1 Bespoke sneaker that was given to Dirk incorporates a colorway that was inspired by the official team colors of the Dallas Mavericks. It also features Dirk’s name on the heel, his number on the tongue, and some other very personal touches that make these true one-of-ones. They were hand-delivered to Dirk in the “Dreambox” that had a message on the outside of it. “All dreams are crazy until they come true,” it says. “Dirk did it.”
Making the occasion even more special for Dirk was that a 19-year-old German guy who won a contest held by Nike on Facebook was on hand to give him the sneakers. Afterwards, they got to live out his dream when they played a game of one-on-one:
