Game Over!!! Tia Mowry Announces She’s Won’t Return For Season 6 Of The Game
What the hell?!!!? I didn’t see this one coming!! Last night, Tia Mowry announced via Twitter that she would not be returning for season 6 of The Game. She tweeted:
“Just wanted to let all my fans know that I will not be returning to The Game for season 6. It was an incredible run and I had lots of fun along the way. I am looking forward to my upcoming projects…the release of my book #OhBaby [today!], season 2 of @TiaTameraShow on @mystyle premiering in June, and my @ABCFamily movie coming out in December…more to come!’ love u so much”
How did BET manage to lose one of the stars of its highest rated scripted show?? There were rumors of a salary dispute, but this has just gone too far. The whole premise of the show revolves around Melanie, the character Tia plays. Absent the dynamics of the marriage between Melanie and Derwin (played by Pooch Hall, who I hear isn’t returning for season 6 himself), I’m not really that interested in the show. This may spell the beginning of the end for The Game.
This really sucks, the two main characters of The Game are leaving. When the show first aired again last year, I was extremly exited. It didn’t play out so well, but then this year it got really good. Just like old times. You guys wait till the show gets back on track and decide that you no longer want to be a part of something great. This makes me angry or even watching the show in the first place, why is it that all the GOOD shows have to come to an end.
I watch the show just to see those two!
I am so upset all that hard work fans did to keep the show on air. How could this happen ? This is the main reason I have cable. Tia and Derwin your going to end the show thats not fair.
Actually I was more disappointed when the Kelly Pitts character left. Melanie just whined a little too much for me. She was scandalous though! So added a lot of interesting twists and turns.
After watching The Game marathon on BET this weekend, I’d like to see the show go back to it’s more humorous roots of the first 3 seasons. Somewhere along the line the show got a little too “soapy” for me. I miss the tongue-in-cheek bantering of the early characters. So far with these newer seasons, Tasha is the only one who’s stayed true to form. Of course I’ll still watch, it’s one of those shows that really broke the mold of sitcoms. Fantastic change from the “reality” slop we see today.
What the hell… this.. this is like Dragon Ball Z With no Goku, Pokemon with no Ash, Yuyu hakisho with no.. You know!
I just watched the first episode of season 6 It was only good b/c of Darwin. I honestly dont see another season it doesnt seem as good w/o Mel &Darwin
