Andre 3000 has transformed into Jimi Hendrix for a new biopic on the famed artist called All Is By My Side.
Over the weekend paparazzi were able to capture some quick photos of the rapper turned actor on the Irish set of the film, where he appears to be fully embracing Hendrix’s character. Dre (born Andre Benjamin) has made it well-known throughout his career the opportunity to play Hendrix would be a dream come true for him and he’s pursued the role for at least the past eight years. While it’s still not clear as to whether the Hendrix estate will allow the use of the legend’s original music in the movie (they’re yet to grant permission) it looks like the just might be the most credible tribute to the rock icon yet.
