Derrick Rose Probably Isn’t Going To Be Able To Wear These adidas adiZero Rose 3.0 Sneakers
There are a lot of questions surrounding Derrick Rose‘s 2012-2013 NBA season. Like, is he going to be able to play for the Chicago Bulls? And, if he does play, how much time will he have to miss? And, if he plays for any length of time, how closely will the Bulls monitor his injuries? And…well, frankly, there are too many other questions to ask in this space. But, there’s one question that, until now, we hadn’t really thought about. And, that question is: If Rose doesn’t play, what will become of his adidas adiZero Rose 3.0 sneakers?
Earlier this week, a few images of the Rose 3.0 sneakers were unveiled and, from what we’ve seen, they look like pretty solid sneakers. They look sleek and lightweight like the Rose 2.0 and Rose 2.5, but they also appear to have a lot of differences. There are large roses on the tongues of the sneakers. The soles are speckled a bit differently. The three iconic stripes on the back are arranged in a different way than they are on the Rose 2.0 and Rose 2.5. And, there are likely tons of other technically aspects of the sneakers that we haven’t heard about yet.
But, if Rose has to miss any length of time for the Bulls—which, for the record, he will—is adidas even going to bother dropping the sneakers? One thing that’s really helped sell Rose’s sneakers in the past is his production on the court. Without that, will people still buy his sneakers? Not likely. So, stay tuned for what adidas plans on doing with the Rose 3.0. We do hope that we see it on the court in some capacity next season—even if they’re not on Derrick Rose’s feet. But, we get the feeling that this might be the first and last time you see these sneakers for awhile. So, take a good hard look at them now:
