Allen Iverson Is Experiencing More Problems With His Estranged Wife Tawanna

There are messy divorces. And then there’s whatever Allen Iverson and his estranged wife Tawanna are going through right now. Calling it “messy” would be the understatement of the year.

Now, this is nothing new for the Iversons. In the past, Tawanna has asked AI—in court, no less!—for the names of all the girls he slept with during his marriage to her. He, in turn, has asked for the judge who is hearing their divorce case to void their divorce because he says Tawanna has slept with him recently and at least partially reconciled with him. And now comes this.

According to AI, Tawanna robbed him recently of everything that he had stored inside of his Atlanta mansion—including furniture, memorabilia, art, and even cold, hard cash—when he was in Asia on a basketball-related trip. After heading to Asia in early May, he returned to Atlanta only to find that everything from his house had been removed. As a result, he wants Tawanna to be sent to jail until she returns everything that she stole. He also wants the judge in their divorce case to prohibit her from coming back to the mansion at any time for any reason. It’s gotten that bad.

We have to ask: Isn’t there a better way to handle all of this? At the end of the day, both Allen and Tawanna Iverson are grown adults. We’re sure there are some hurt feelings involved here and we’re sure both of them feel some sort of way about each other. But all of the drama surrounding their divorce is making both of them look petty. It’s also leaving us with a perception of AI that, quite frankly, isn’t very good. We want to remember him as a great basketball player who did everything to help his team win—not the guy who spent the last years of his career bickering and arguing with his estranged wife over every little thing.

Get it together, guys. If not for yourselves, then for your kids. All this drama isn’t good for them. And, it’s hindering your ability to move on. This has gotten messy enough. End it now.
