The adidas adiZero Rose 3.0 “Chicago Bears” Pay Homage To Chi-Town’s Other Favorite Team

As we told you last week, adidas just finished putting the finishing touches on the adidas adiZero Rose 3.0 sneakers. And that’s good news for all of you out there who have enjoyed Derrick Rose‘s sneakers so far. From the looks of things, they appear to be a step up from the stellar adiZero Rose 2.5 sneakers and adidas seems to be headed in the right direction with Rose’s signature sneaker. Of course, there’s still an elephant in the room when it comes to the Rose 3.0—there’s no guarantee that D-Rose will actually get to wear them next season! He’s going to be rehabbing his recently-repaired ACL all offseason in the hopes that he can maybe make it back to the basketball court by January or February.

So, if he doesn’t get to wear the Rose 3.0 next season, who will get to wear them? Or, better yet, will anyone get to wear them at all since adidas won’t have an athlete to represent them? Well, it looks like they will be released, but adidas is already getting creative about how they’ll promote them. The first creative step towards doing that: The adiZero Rose 3.0 “Chicago Bears” that you see here. They’re Rose 3.0 sneakers in a Bears colorway that’s meant to pay homage to Chicago’s pro football team and, from what we see, they look like a solid sneaker.

Unlike the 2.5s, the Rose 3.0 doesn’t look quite as sleek or lightweight. However, these do look a hell of a lot more supportive than any of D-Rose’s other signature sneakers. We also like the additional details that adidas has added to the sneaker and the patent leather is a nice touch, too. We’re still not completely sold on adidas releasing a successful sneaker without the face of a major athlete behind it. But, we’ve gotta give them some credit here: By starting early with the Rose 3.0, they give themselves all summer and fall to establish this as a major player in the huge lineup of signature sneakers that will drop this year.

So, what do you think? If you’re a D-Rose fan, are you copping the Rose 3.0? Or, will you look elsewhere when it comes to buying a signature basketball sneaker next season?
