A Pair of Nike Air Yeezy II Sneakers Sold For $90,000 On eBay Yesterday
Sooooooo…just how badly do you want a pair of Nike Air Yeezy II sneakers? Bad enough to empty your bank account, take out a personal loan, or—gulp!—wipe out your kid’s college fund? If not, you’re probably not going to be able to get your hands on a pair (unless you’ve got a great connect, in which case, holla at us!) because the Yeezy IIs are already going for top dollar. And, when we say “top dollar,” we mean top dollar.
Recently, someone out there put a pair of preorder Yeezy IIs up on eBay. The person had apparently gotten their hands on a Yeezy II preorder and was willing to part with it…for the right price. And, it looks like they got it. Last night, the auction for the “Black/Pink” colorway of the Yeezy IIs eclipsed the $90,000 mark and was ended with a final bid of $90,300. No, that’s not a typo. We didn’t mean $930 or $9300. We meant $90,300. That’s what some sneakerhead out there is apparently willing to pay for a Yeezy II preorder (anyone want to ‘fess up to it?). That’s what you’re up against if you want to buy a pair of these after they drop on Saturday.
Of course, there’s a good chance that whoever bid on these particular Yeezy IIs isn’t actually going to fork over 90 grand for them. It is, after all, 90 grand and there’s a chance this is just some kind of publicity stunt. But, for now, the bar has been set. If you get your hands on a pair of Yeezy IIs, you’re walking away with at least a couple grand for your efforts if you decide to get rid of them. And, if you want a pair of them, well, it looks like you’re going to have to either empty your bank account, take out a personal loan, or wipe out your kid’s college fund. So, how badly do you want them?
