Whitney Houston’s Mom Accused Of Exploiting Her Death

Submitted by on June 10, 2012 – 3:08 pm9 Comments

The members of Whitney Houston‘s family that were closest to her, including her mom Cissy, sister-in-law Pat Houston, and daughter Bobbi Kristina, haven’t exactly made the best PR decisions in the months since her shocking death. Whether it be Pat and Bobbi Kristina’s decision to sit down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey (although Bobbi Kris remained standing for her brief chitchat with the talk show queen, but you know what I mean) a mere month after Whitney died by accidental drowning in the bathtub in her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, or the trio’s decision to film a reality show, their attempts to grab the spotlight for themselves so soon after the pop culture icon’s death have been met with great criticism from her fans. In the latest chapter of this ongoing saga, Cissy is being accused of “pulling a Joe Jackson” by agreeing to write a tell-all about her experiences as Whitney’s mom, and the accusations are being levied by other members of the Houston family! According to TMZ:

“Whitney Houston’s mom is pulling a Joe Jackson — cashing in on her child’s tragic death … that’s what some family members think of Cissy Houston’s plans to write a tell-all book.

Sources close to the Houston family tell TMZ … Cissy’s new publishing deal with Harper-Collins for a memoir is merely a lame attempt to make money — since Whitney left everything to Bobbi Kristina — and not at all about honoring the late singer.

One source said the book — which is slated for release next year — could also be a PR move for Cissy, claiming … ‘She will try to come out looking like the world’s greatest mom, when in actuality, she wasn’t.’”

Whatever happened to the mourning process? Whatever happened to mourning privately? Whitney did leave everything to Bobbi Kris, so the accusation that Cissy is trying to break off a little something for herself isn’t that far-fetched. Harper-Collins has revealed that the as-yet-untitled memoir is scheduled for release on Feb. 15, 2013. Are you interested in reading it?

My theory of why they are doing this is…I know personally part of the family. She was never nice to anyone. She snobbed her family. Her mom was probably a different story though. And they are all nice people. Her family is.

I think it is sad that the life and the memories of her daughter, be it good or bad are now to be equated to Cissy collecting ransom for Whitney Houstons death, but lets face it peeps Cissy lived her life through Whitney even while Whitney was alive. Whitney was the star Cissy always wanted to be but never acheived, and the idea that Whitneys family wants to blame Ray J for Whitney’s downfall is only be left to accusations but this I know is true a mother, a family knows their daughter and her mother was more concerned about Whitney’s Image being tarnished than the very breath her daughter breathed. Cissy was well aware of the struggles that Whitney faced and decided that saving face was more important than saving her daughter from a troubled path. Whitney I love you and I am truley sorry that you had to endure the things that we ‘the world now see exposed. RIP

Well in response to your comments about my comment. I am sorry that you can’t handle the truth but this is no fault of mine. in addiation I never sais that Cissy did not love Whitney she just had a hell of a way of showing it I think. Why not take the funds made from the proceeds and give it to a charity that helps people with adictions or some other cause. I was told that Whitney had a charity foundation that was set up, why not give money to help someone not have to endure the pains that Whitney (her daughter) had to endure. I beleive that the truth will set you free and this is MY TRUTH. SPEAK IT!!!!!!!

Roga, you are probably one of the biggest hypocrites that exist!
