Get ready for more screen time with Sarah Palin‘s eldest daughter as she prepares for the debut of her new reality show, Bristol Palin: Life’s A Tripp.

A 21-year-old mother of one son (Tripp) Bristol appeared on Good Morning America earlier today to talk ahead about next week’s series premiere. “The people that don’t like me, I’m not trying to change their opinion on it. But it’s going to be a good show.”

Bristol was pregnant and unwed when she was first pushed into the spotlight in 2008, when her mother was anointed Senator John McCain‘s vice presidential running mate. She says the TV series will show her as a “grounded, normal mom” who defiantly takes up for her own mother when needed. “If someone’s going to talk poorly about my mom, I’m going to pick and choose my battles,” she says. “I’m excited for viewers to see the real me in all that.”
