Lil Wayne’s Supra Collection Won’t Launch Until 2013

Now that Kanye West has released the Nike Air Yeezy II to the world, it’s time to start taking a look at the next big sneaker release with ties to a rapper. That sneaker, of course, is the one that Lil Wayne is reportedly creating with Supra.  Or, rather, make that sneakers, because it sounds like Weezy will be releasing an entire lineup of Supra sneakers as opposed to a single signature sneaker. Even better, it also sounds like he’s already put the finishing touches on all of the sneakers that will be released and Supra seems to be on the same page with him when it comes to his designs.

The good news stops there, though. Because while Wayne is pretty far along in the production process of his Supra sneaker line, it’s now being reported that sneakerheads will have to wait until at least the beginning of 2013 before they’ll be able to get their hands on a pair of Wayne’s Supras. Supra and Wayne have agreed on a series of different designs that were all overseen and approved by Wayne himself, but they won’t be released to the world for another seven months or so.

Now, that’s not necessarily be a bad thing. After all, Kanye just released the Yeezy II. The Air Jordan IV “Military Blue” sneakers just dropped as well. And, this summer is jam-packed with big sneaker releases (the spring was pretty crazy, too, right?). So, we could probably all use a little time to collect our thoughts (and our funds!) before Wayne’s Supra collection drops. In the meantime, stay tuned for photos and details of all of the Weezy-approved Supra sneakers. Now that Kanye has dropped his big release, Wayne’s got next. And, even though it’ll be a little while longer before he officially gets into the game, we think it’ll be worth the wait.
