Tracy McGrady’s First adidas Signature Sneaker Is Set To Make A Comeback Soon
I must be getting old. I remember reading about Tracy McGrady in SLAM magazine all the way back when he was still in high school. I remember seeing him come into the league and teaming up with Vince Carter on the Toronto Raptors. I remember when his first signature sneaker from adidas, the T-Mac 1, hit stores. And, now, adidas is getting ready to re-release those sneakers for the first time. That officially makes me old. And, I think it officially makes T-Mac—who is still playing in the league for the Atlanta Hawks—old, too.
As you can see here, adidas has already put together a couple pairs of retro T-Mac 1 sneakers. One of them features the original Orlando Magic colorway that T-Mac wore on the court when he joined the Magic. And, the other is a red/black colorway that looks just as crispy as the blue one. Both of the retro kicks look pretty much identical to the original T-Mac 1s.
Unfortunately, that’s about all that we know about the re-release of the T-Mac 1 right now. adidas hasn’t released any other details about them and we’re not sure when you’ll be able to buy them, where they’ll be made available, or, most importantly, how much they will cost. But, one thing is clear: Sneaker companies aren’t just retroing sneakers from the late 1980s and early 1990s anymore. They’re giving the retro treatment to sneakers that were released less than a decade ago now. So, while it’s nice to see the T-Mac 1s drop again, we’re even more excited about all of the other goodies that Nike, Reebok, and adidas might be cooking up for us soon. But, in the meantime, stay tuned for more details on these as they become available to us. You’ll definitely want to add ‘em to the stash.
