A New Baywatch Movie Is Rumored To Star Justin Timberlake
Justin Timberlake knows how to make a statement in swimwear.
First, the singer-turned-actor donned Beyonce‘s famous black one-piece for a Saturday Night Live-inspired “Single Ladies” spoof. And, now, the N’Sync alum is poised to slip into David Hasselhoff‘s iconic orange shorts for a major motion picture reboot of the TV show Baywatch.
For months, Paramount Pictures has been developing a big screen version of the ’90s TV classic. But, the project has hit a few rough currents due to a less-than-sea-worthy script.”We still don’t have a script that’s makeable,” said producer Ivan Reitman. “I think it’s a big opportunity. This is a comedy, and I think we have a very interesting take—a classical idea that will be fresh for the world audience. It’s one of the best-known titles that’s out there.”
If the project eventually does hit calm waters, Timberlake is the first on the list to star as a disgraced Olympic swimmer fresh to the “Baywatch” lifeguard team. But, fans of the beachy brand shouldn’t fret—roles for original cast members Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson are available if they want them. And, according to a recent interview with the Hoff, he’s ready to make a splash on the big screen.
“I’m looking at the Baywatch episodes right now in my office,” Hasselhoff recently told Movieline. “I’ve got 200 of them. I’ve done some pretty wild stuff. Would I go back to it? Sure. I’d do anything.”
