LeBron James, hands down, has been the most scrutinized player in the NBA. His physical gifts and god given ability have made him arguably one of the greatest talents in the NBA. However, his problems haven’t been with his talent, it’s been about his heart. But after nine seasons, a controversial departure from his hometown of Cleveland to the cushy confines of Miami and two failed NBA Finals appearances, James has finally got the ring that he’s been after when he led the Miami Heat to a series clinching 121-106 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

It was a different LeBron James that we were used to seeing as the 27-year-old showed no fear and didn’t disappear in the 4th quarter like he has been criticized of doing when the going gets tough. Not only did LeBron win but he dominated the Finals by averaging 28.6 points, 7.4 assists and 10.2 rebounds. He closed out the series with a triple double and can add the NBA Finals MVP to his mantle along with his third regular season MVP and his championship ring.

But now the question is that everyone happy for LeBron or will more criticism rain down on King James. Most skeptics will debate that LeBron couldn’t do it without Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. That’s partially true. However, it wasn’t like James took a backseat to his teammates at any point in these NBA Finals. It was James who strapped his team onto his back and carried them to the promised land. He led his team in points, rebounds assists and steals while also shooting 50% from the field. It was LeBron James at his best and his best earned him a championship against a OKC team that was thought to be better all the way around.

LeBron simply wouldn’t be denied.

But now what? With our favorite punching bag finally getting the ring he has been expected to win since entering the league, will we finally leave James alone? Or will we continue to ride James until he wins the two, three, four or five rings he promised when he arrived in South Beach?
